ROLE : Special event menu design, merch design

Bar Camillo is a bar and restaurant in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. They specialize in a type of ancient Roman pizza called pinsa but also wanted to highlight their bar program. Their goal was to be seen not only as a neighborhood restaurant but as a late-night bar and music destination, as well.
They began this crossover with a series of collaborations with local spirit brands which we called "cocktail takeovers".

SOTOL & VINYL
Sotol is a distilled spirit similar to mezcal but made from the sotol plant, an evergreen succulent that grows in the deserts of Mexico and the southern US.
I created this image of a flowering sotol plant to represent the drink's origin, combining it with a record for the evening's DJ event. The color scheme evokes the southwestern environment in which the plant grows.

Their next cocktail takeover featured the Brooklyn-based Faccia Brutto spirits. For this event, I went with a more youthful, brightly colored design, incorporating the classic Italian hand gesture as a joking reference to both Italy and old-school Brooklyn.

For Bar Camillo's merch, I cleaned up their old logo and then created this mirror image alternate for use on hats, t-shirts, and sweatshirts.
